- GolfJust a few miles up the road, Harburn's a mature golf course dating back to the early 30s. It'll suit all standards of golfer with some challenging and not-so challenging holes. With a fine bar and restaurant, a good day's blend with the Five Sisters Zoo.
- Clay Pigeon ShootingClay pigeon shooting at Morton, which is only a mile as the crow flies. Morton Clay Targets cater for small groups and can offer instruction for the beginner. Excellent skeet layout for the expert.
- Climbing ArenaEurope’s largest indoor climbing arena. EICA Ratho has hundreds of routes for novice and expert, there's no shortage of challenges. No need to stick to climbing the walls either, there are rocks for bouldering too.
- Glen Tress Mountain BikingGlentress Forest is a mountain biking Mecca deep in the heart of the stunning Tweed Valley. The biking experience here includes Green, Blue, Red or Black graded trails, as well as a magnificent multi-graded free-ride area.
- Go Ape at Glen TressBuilt on the hillside within the beautiful Glentress Forest (part of Tweed Valley Forest Park), Go Ape Peeblesshire Tree Top Adventure makes good use of the valley for some jaw dropping exposure, and features our highest zip wire over the reservoirs in the valley.
- Fishing LocallyThere's plenty of fishing to be had locally. At Harlaw Reservoir the water is regularly stocked with rainbow trout up to 5lb in weight - it's fly only. Even closer is Selmwood Fishery, a smaller pond but still fun fishing. If you'd like to try fishing we can provide tackle.
- Country WalksThere are several walks locally, not the least of which is here in Belstane wood or the forest walk a mile down the road. For a more demanding hike, take the old cattle drove road over the Cauld Stane Slap to West Linton and lunch at the Gordon Arms.
- Local Walk, Bike, RideSelm Muir Wood, only a mile away. Mature Scots pines, young spruce trees, rowan, birch and willow in this working forest with even an ancient beech hedge. A network of level forest tracks and paths, but uneven and muddy in places. Look out for deer and other wildlife.
- Hillend Snowsports CentreOne of Europe's longest dry ski slopes: skiing, snowboarding, tubing. Take a lesson from a BASI qualified ski or snowboard instructor and get yourself ready for the slopes this coming winter.
